We decided to go to Las Vegas this past Friday and spend the weekend there because Blaine got a gift certificate at the Wynn Resort from about two years ago while working at Pulte and the card was slowly expiring, so we decided to go spend the money on the card instead of just throwing the money away. So, we planned a quick trip to Vegas and thought that it would be a perfect time to get away since I'll be having our baby pretty soon and also a chance to spend time with Emi before the baby arrived. I had never been to Vegas, so I had some hesitations about going, but we ended up having such a fun time that I want to go back again in the future, maybe next time without the kids. :)
Our trip started out visiting the Hoover Dam. That was totally by accident. We actually got stuck in traffic, so I took some pictures from the car. But, since we were moving so slowly in the car, it was like we were walking around.
Emi forcing a smile at the Hoover Dam. As you can tell, she wasn't that interested.

Emi playing at our room at the Encore. I wish I had taken more pictures of the room. It was a really nice room and we were able to enjoy the lights in Las Vegas.
That night we just went to dinner there at the resort and walked around window shopping at the luxury shops that for sure I can't afford. It was also interesting and funny watching all the people there. They must look at us and think that we are also crazy for bringing our child and then me being pregnant again.
The resort was gorgeous and they had all these beautiful decorations all over.

The next day, I was able to have some "Me" time in the morning and go to the spa there and get a pedicure and eyebrow shaping. Then after we went to the Mandalay Bay Resort and went to go see the Shark Reef Aquarium. Emi had fun there looking at all the fishes and crocodiles and whatever water animal you can think of.
Emi and Blaine in the glass tube at the aquarium.
Then as we were walking we saw this pregnant statue.
So of course, I had to take a picture with it.
Then we went to the MGM Grand Resort and saw the real lions there. They have these lions in a glass cage and you can go really close to them, so that was pretty cool.
Next on to the M&M World.
We ate at the Rainforest Cafe, which is someplace that I would not go if I didn't have kids. I thought that Emi would love it but everytime the stupid elephants would come alive (which seems like every 15 minutes), she would freak out and jump out of her high chair and sit on one of us. Then she told us and everyone that she talked to that she doesn't like elephants. Crazy, girl...
Then we went back to the resort and rested and just stayed there and ate.
I feel like I ate and ate the whole trip. I told Blaine that I wish I wasn't pregnant because then I would have more room to store my food because there were so many things that I wanted to try but I was just too full.
Anyways, we had a such a fun trip and we need to go back again some time. The best part of the trip was that everything was for free! Thank you Pulte and thank you Blaine for working so hard for us.

Happy Belated Girl's Day
In Japan, they celebrate Girl's Day on March 3rd of every year. This year we were a little late and celebrated on a Friday because I was lazy. Anyways, usually I always buy a cake from a japanese bakery, but again, I was lazy and didn't want to drive all the way to Tempe to go get it, so I decided to make it myself for the first time. I don't know what I was thinking, but I guess I felt a little ambitious. I was pretty surprised at how it turned out. The taste was good, but maybe the presentation could have been better. But, it was late and I was REALLY hungry (remember pregnant), so I kind of slapped it together.
But here's some pictures...
Here are the girls in the family. I look a little drunk, but wanted to show you a little side shot of Junior.
Emi and her cake. We had to sing Happy Birthday, so she could pretend to blow out candles. She was in heaven...
AND finally the cake. Happy Girl's Day!!!
