Last week Friday, my sister and her boyfriend came over from BYU during their summer break to come visit us in deadly hot AZ. Seriously, not the best time to come visit Arizona. But even with the heat, we had fun having them come and play with us.
My son's happy face because of all the extra attention.
We got season passes to Wet N' Wild this year but each time we go there, I always forget to bring my camera. This time I had a lot of help with the kids, so I didn't forget it.
Rika and Eric
While they were here we went to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and then to Sprinkles cupcake to see what the hype is with these cupcakes.
They were good, but not crazy enough to go back to Scottsdale to get some more good. But I must say that they do wrap the cupcakes pretty darn cute.
And more cute pictures of the kids and my sister.
This one taken at Chandler Mall on the train.
Overall, it was so much fun having family and also the extra help with the kids was nice too! Thanks Rika and Eric for coming to visit. It was a lot of fun and we hope to see you again soon. Good luck this Fall!

Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary to us!
Last Saturday was our 6th year anniversary! Who would have thought that we would have lasted this long? :) Just kidding...
We were so lucky to go on a date without the kids and decided to go to Grimaldi's in Scottsdale because we've heard so many good reviews. The result is... it did not disappoint and it was a cute little place to get your NY brick oven pizza fix. It helped that the salad was also very yummy too.
Here's us trying to take a picture while waiting to be seated. I just got an iPhone 4 for my birthday and I've been having so much fun with it, but still trying to figure out how to work this INCREDIBLE machine. To those thinking about getting an iPhone... don't delay, go get one. (Apple should pay me for this advertisement... I wish...)
Then I realized that you could turn it sideways and take a picture. Yes, I know... I'm an idiot.
Check out this pizza. I think Blaine is struggling here to finish the pizza or mad because I'm taking the picture in the restaurant. I think it's the latter one.
It was nice to spend time together and reminisce about the past six years of our life and see how fast our lives have changed. I just realize how blessed I am to have such wonderful children and also a great husband. Thanks to our babysitters for allowing us this special night! Thank you!
This next thing is Emi trying to figure out the IPhone camera. I think she took my phone and shot these when I wasn't looking because I saw these pictures on my phone the other day and was cracking up.
Here's the first shot of her trying to figure out how to take a picture.
Trying to smile and take a picture at the same time...
Didn't quite make it, so trying again and not getting her whole face.
And finally... PERFECT!

One year older, and maybe wiser...
Last week Wednesday, I got older.... Yikes. It was a crazy and hectic day on my birthday, but it was still so much fun.
We went to Tempe Splash Park in the morning and brought Emi's friend, Sydney. Here's them doing what they do best... Eating!
Then we went to Mojo's for some yummy yogurt and came home and played all day. We'll miss you Bryan Family!!! (Warning to Families here in Laveen: Don't move or I'll be sad... )
Then the next day, we had my pie and celebrated my birthday. I chose pie this year because I feel like I've been over caked with the kids birthdays in May. Plus, Village Inn has this Hawaiian Pie with strawberries and pineapple... mmmm... so good. They were all sold out, so I didn't get it this year. Too bad... Oh well.
Had the kids help me blow out my candles.
And the best present that I got this year is... a walking Brenden!!! Woo Hoo! Can we let out a sigh of relief? Seriously, I was a little worried there. I started getting worried when everyone younger than him started not walking, but running already. He started walking that week, so it was perfect timing for my birthday. He was already into a lot of things just crawling, but now it's worse. He loves the bathrooms and you know what that means...
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, cards, presents and flowers. I feel so blessed to have great family and friends in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My Little Artist
Emi one day drew on her magna doodle and brought it up to me and said, "Look, I made Grandpa!" I was pretty amazed because first of all, I didn't even know that she could draw faces and second, it was a pretty darn good drawing of my dad for a 3 year old. This shows how much I pay attention to my daughter... sad... But anyway, I took a picture of it and now I am definitely more aware of her drawings and I must say they are pretty good.
Here's the comparison, my Dad.
Ok, maybe he's not that hard to draw, but I think Emi got it pretty good.
And here is the little artist with her messy hair.
