Happy Girl's Day!
In Japan, on the 3rd of March, they celebrate Girl's day. Basically, we display our japanese dolls and eat cake. I guess it is just a celebration of girls, what's wrong with that, right? So, since we have Emi-chan we decided to start the tradition of getting fat and eating cake.
In Tempe they have a great japanese bakery and make the best cakes and little desserts. SO GOOD....
Here's our little, little cake. It was the perfect size for us. Here you can see the actual size of it with our huge child next to it. Look at those eyes wanting to ATTACK the cake.
"Hinamatsuri" = Girl's Day Celebration
Happy eating cake. :)

Hi Aika! What a fun tradition! Hey, did I invite you to read my blog? I can't remember...
Happy girls day to you too! What a great thing to celebrate. Girls rock! Dig in to your girly cake! Woo Hoo!
What is the name of that bakery? My sis in law, Gabi lived in Japan for a little while and she would love something like that!
I love the idea of Girl's Day! We need a good excuse to be able to eat cake and not feel bad about it right? Emi is as adorable as ever!
Aika! These pictures of Emi are adorable!! I love the cake!
What an awesome holiday! I wish I had a little girl... =)
Ahhh, you should have mentioned girls day in advance, that way I could've celebrated too! I'm feeling like I need to do a little girl time.
Happy Girls Day! We were gonna do the whole set up the hina dolls and everything...but they are so expensive so I never got around to buying them. BUt the cute cake is something I should do! I wish there was a Japanese bakery around here in Utah!!! I miss Japanese desserts!
Aika chan, Emi is just getting prettier and prettier, I love her hair! And I love those kinds of cakes! I wish "Temple" has something fancy like that, too. (well, I guess it's Temple, not Tempe after all.) So, let me get this right: Were Emi the one celebrating Hinamatsuri, or was that you (you, your cake and Emi as your doll display?) :)
p.s. thank you for your comments on my blog. It is comments like yours that encourage me to keep trying!
